A polyhedral
dial has many faces - it can be a simple cube with dials on 5 of the 6 faces. The dial on the right is made of Ancaster stone and has 6 dials, although there could be a dial on each of the 25 visible faces.
Each visible face depicts something to do with the recipient's family or interests. The stand shown is oak set on a rod sunk in concrete. However, plinths can also be stone, brick, or something you may have already e.g. an old chimney pot.
